Our contractor/friend/all-around good guy is coming back this weekend to finish off his parts of the kitchen.
His list:
- install the over-the-range microwave (and Hubs will install the exhaust fan bits)
- install the cabinet over the microwave
- finish the trim and crown on that side of the kitchen
- install the back panel of the peninsula (which came in the completely wrong colour initially)
- install the fake cabinet doors on the end of the peninsula
- install the electrical outlet on the end of the peninsula
- install baseboard
- bask in our everlasting gratitude for giving us such a kick-ass kitchen
My list:
- patch and paint trim (crown and baseboard)
- decide on paint
- paint
- decide on backsplash
- decide if I can install the backsplash myself
- install the backsplash
- be willing to admit defeat and call in an expert if I totally suck at installing the backsplash
And I think that’s it?! A finished kitchen awaits. Until then, some midway photos. DO NOT LOOK BEYOND THE KITCHEN. AND IF YOU DO, DO NOT JUDGE. Please. It’s a reno mess. Understandable, yes?
