A few times a year the hubs takes off for hockey tournaments and leaves us to fend for ourselves. And pretty much as soon as he walks out the door I forget how to feed myself and rely on restaurants, bagels and chocolate. This weekend was no different.
On Friday night we went out for a super fab birthday celebration for one of my super fab friends at NOtaBLE. Which was, as always, crazy delicious. Although I’ve stopped telling people that I’m going to NOtaBLE, because someone always chuckles, “Heh, heh, don’t you mean No Table? ‘Cause it’s hard to get into? ‘Cause they have no tables? Get it? Get it?” Yup. I get it. Anyways, good food, great people. Awesome night. Eat the risotto.
Saturday I had a long run with a friend, and we circled Glenmore Reservoir (15 km). It was fabulous (other than the icy patches) until the last four km when a few aches and pains started creeping in and we decided to focus on our conversations skills instead. Fun was had by all.
Saturday night I went with some girlfriends to the Garlic Clove. Totally delicious, but totally dead. Which was weird. It’s a tiny place and usually packed. I hoped that there wasn’t anything I didn’t know about, but it remained true to it’s name. Full on garlic, prepared in many tasty ways.
For all other meals I ate Easter chocolate.
Balance.
I did start to feel guilty by the end of the weekend and tried to go to Safeway for something belonging in the fresh family, but being Easter Sunday, it was closed. Too bad.
More chocolate.
Ladies Weekend, as an event, usually requires a photo shoot. With the terrible iPhone front camera.
This is our serious face.
